Rules and Regulations

 

Pre-Registration and Pay at the Track Fee’s:

Pre-Registration is defined as payments received from the prepayment post date up to the Thursday prior the event.  Pay at the track Fee’s are subject to a $15 surcharge. 

 

Rider Entry Fee:

$125.00 prepay and $140.00 pay at the track the day of the event.

 

Gate Fee's:

FREE entry fee for NON-RIDERS entering the grounds.

 

Cancellations & Refunds:

Cancellations made from a rider by the Friday prior the event will be granted a refund or credit for another track date. Contact Circuit Grand Bayou for further information.

 

Age Restrictions:

18 years old is the minimum age allowed to ride.  These rider's must complete the Minor Waiver which requires a legal guardian’s signature.

 

Motorcycle Requirements:

All bikes must pass tech inspection prior to admittance to the track.  If your bike does not pass tech, you will not receive a refund.  It is your responsibility to have your bike prepared prior to arriving at the track.

 

A – GROUP: (Advanced)

Race plastics or remove mirrors and license plate, tape over all lensed lights. Unrestricted inside and outside passing is allowed throughout the track.

 

B – GROUP: (Intermediate)

Remove mirrors and license plate, tape-over; headlight, tail light and blinkers.  You must possess the basic track riding skills which include, but are not limited to: steady predictable lines, steady predictable pace throughout the corner, as well as judging and executing safe passes.  Outside passing ONLY is allowed in the turns by no less than 3ft plus usual passing in the straights, this group may include 2 control riders.

 

C – GROUP: (Novice or Beginner)

Street bikes - Tape over headlight, tail light and blinkers, remove license plate.  Removal of mirrors is preferred but will allow taping-over.  Riders wait for assistance on the track map from the instructor in the Lounge after the meeting.  PASSING allowed only in the straight leading to turn 1, under caution between 7 and 8.  A clean pass is defined as clearing the passed bike before turn-in.  There will be 2 control riders present monitoring and giving instructions.

 

ALL GROUPS:

• NO glycol based coolant

• Tires must be in acceptable condition.

• Tape-over taped-on wheel weights.

• Valve stems must have caps.

• Must have an operational handle-bar kill switch.

 

Rider Gear Requirements:

• Damage free BSI, DOT or SNELL approved full-face helmet with face shield.

• Full length riding boots recommended, over the ankle work-style tie-up boots are accepted.

• Gauntlet style gloves with full wrist coverage.

• One or two piece leathers. Two piece leather suits must zip together.

• CE certified back protectors are recommended but not required.

 

Rider Meetings:

Each day begins with a mandatory Riders Meeting.  Daily Rider Meetings cover information that is critical to the safety of all riders participating in the event.  If you miss the meeting you must sign a hard copy of it stating you are aware of the track rules and flag regulations.

 

FLAGS:

Each rider is required to know all the policies and regulations including the proper adherence to track flagging procedures

• GREEN - open track

• STANDING YELLOW - use caution there's a hazard ahead and no passing.

• WAVING YELLOW - use extreme caution the hazard is in the next corner, no passing.

• YELLOW with RED STRIPES - use caution oil or debris on the track.

• SOLID BLUE or BLUE with YELLOW STRIPE - faster traffic approaching DO NOT look back and hold your line.

• BLACK - something is wrong with your bike or your riding. Signal you are slowing, pull off race line and proceed to grid.

• BLACK FULL COURSE - at all STATIONS signal you are slowing, return to pits to await further instructions from grid.

• RED - session is halted signal you are slowing and continue to pits awaiting further instructions from grid.

• CHECKERED - end of session.

 

Other Rules and Regulations and Information:

• There is a $20.00 fee for an electrical outlet anywhere on the grounds.

• We will have a flagged worker at 3 stations.

• There will be a certified EMT on site.

• Vendors, please contact me via e-mail: lateapextrackdays@hotmail.com for your participation guidelines.

• Photographers can only access the left side of the track to turn one, turns 13 and 14 or a spot in any of the 4 stations WITH GRID STEWARD'S APPROVAL. You must remain there until the end of the session until we can get a vehicle to you.

• Restrooms and showers are available.

 

Parade Lap

• If you plan to ride you must arrive by 10:00am

• Complete a Parade Lap Form

• I'll hold a Mandatory Riders Meeting at 11:30am

• Have a M/C endorsement on your drivers license

• Have insurance on your bike

• Bike must pass Tech Inspection

• Full face DOT approved helmet, a riding jacket, riding gloves, minimum of jeans and a minimum of a work boot

• We'll exercise a top speed limit of 65mph anywhere on the track.

 

Corner Working:

-You MUST attend a corner worker orientation program to work as a corner worker.

-You must confirm 2 week’s prior the event.
-Only riders or certified corner workers can take advantage of this program
-You have to arrive for 0700 to assist with set-up and stay until the end of the day and assist with clean-up.
-The safety of the riders, including you, is at stake. Please be mindful of your important roll and arrive the morning of the event fully rested. 

-White shirt: short sleeves will be accepted. Long sleeves will better protect your skin from hot fluids, sharp edge debris and the sun. Wearing white will help riders see you clearly so any flag displayed can be seen and comprehended accordingly.
-White painter pants: short’s will be accepted. White or a light color so you're that more visible to the riders.
-Foot Wear: NO open toe shoes or sandals. Preferably any type of over the ankle leather work or hiking boot to protect feet from injury.
-Gloves, Hat and Sunglasses: optional. Gloves would be good to protect your hands for hot fluids and sharp debris. Hats: will protect your head from the sun and Sunglasses will protect your eyes for glare and eye strains do to the sun.
